Windmill Wind-up by Matt Christopher was an OK book. It was good when they were talking about Kelly's games but the rest had to much drama for me. Overall the boom was pretty good. In the book Kelly is the best player on the best team. That all changes when she gets put on a different team and can't hit windmill pitching. Outside of softball she has to deal with hers mom's new boyfriend. I would recommend this book to 4th-7th graders. If you like baseball or softball you would like this book. If you like a little bit of drama you'll like this even though I didn't.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as I had hoped to. I am big into softball and thought that I would connect with the book more because of it; however I felt that the plot was weak and predictable. You knew from reading the synopsis on the back how the book would end. I felt that there could have been more depth to it. It was an enjoyable read if you don't want to really get moral out of it. Warnings: The main character, Kelly, is often disrespectful to her mother.
