Review # 1 was written on 2019-07-29 00:00:00 John Robinson I admit at once this is just the sort of poetry I dislike. I won't use the word 'academic' (darn, just did) because it's really too nebulous a term to throw around. But it does have the whiff of MFA programs about it. Full of earnest, heavy-handed metaphors and images. Full of itself, maybe. Not much in the way of musicality'at times, more like plodding prose that would be just as uninteresting without the line breaks. I can't recommend it, to be sure, but I'll say it is more of a take it or leave it book than one I would recommend against.
