Review # 1 was written on 2014-03-10 00:00:00 Bertie Noland I think Rowe's exposition and analysis of Clarke's version of the Cosmological Argument is wonderful. Though I think certain pieces are a bit dated (as is the case when the field responds to to such a work), there are still key points that are valuable in current debates of perhaps the most philosophically interesting version of this type of argument which are not emphasized enough. Rowe's conclusions are modest, and in some places I think too modest, but this work is certainly valuable for those interested in cosmological arguments and navigating their fractal-like variations in the contemporary landscape. |

The introduction to various post-modern and post-modern-ish philosophers is brief and barely a window into their theological insights. The last section of the book, original essays, only scrapes at a few of the pomo-ers talked about before. More postmodern than God. |
