One in a series of History Maker Bios, this book satisfies. Ages 8-12 As a personal preference, I like biographies that tell the story of the individuals life in more story form. Instead this book tells his life story in blurbs of facts. A good overview of the man's life, containing enough details to keep a child interested without being overwhelmed. Each page includes half a page of text and an illustration or photograph that is fun, interesting and directly relevant to the text. The inclusion of details in text bubbles, maps and photos of real items relating to his story bring the details to life. The time line at the end brings it all together. Not as busy as many books of this style which choose to include several factoids scattered around the page, this book chooses to only include them every few pages, keeping it a bit simpler. A good entry into a nice series of children's biographies. No other reviews found.
