i read an English translation of this play. this is a reminder for myself to read the French version once i'm finished with all my assignments. it wasn't that funny on paper, maybe it'd be funnier to watch? as is the case with most comedic plays, since they rely on visual humour. not a good first impression of Molière, but i've gotta read the French version, and maybe some of his more famous plays too, in order to form a fair opinion of him. the story is predictable and boring, what's there to like? i don't know... there were some confusing plot holes too. i found one line funny... "Fie! Plague on the booby!"

As most Molière tales, an easy and quite predictable ending. Yet still remaining a lovable and classic text.
