This is all that has to be said about this : St. Thomas Aquinas wrote - Yes, with regard to its particular nature (ie, the action of the male semen), a female is deficient and misbegotten. For the active power of the semen always seeks to produce a thing completely like itself, something male. So if a female is produced, this must be because semen is weak or because the material (provided by the female parent) is unsuitable, or because the action of such external factor such as the winds from the south which make the atmosphere humid. But with regard to universal nature the female is not misbegotten but intended by Nature for the work of generation. Now the intentions of Nature come from God, who is its author. This is why, when he created Nature, he made not only the male but also the female. Now we know where "barefoot & pregnant " comes from. And although the crazy southwind does makes me crazy sometimes, I will now embrace it and ... bring on the humidity!

The cover of this makes it look incredibly childish and easy to write off, so I was not expecting coherant arguments, nor did I particularily want to hear any, or think I would find anything in this convincing. On the contrary, it is actually very well written and argued, making refutations to all the arguments against female ordaination with such logic and so well souced that I found it to make a very compelling point. Basically, this book stressed me out a lot, because my views were challenged and I've realized just how weak and superficial they were.
