The average rating for Better a Hundred Friends than a Hundred Rubles?: Social Networks in Transition--The Kyrgyz Republic based on 2 reviews is 3 stars.
Review # 1 was written on 2013-02-25 00:00:00 Luiz Martins One of the best heterodox accounts of the postsocialist transformation in Eastern Europe. I wish there was a second edition, looking back from thirty years. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-02-06 00:00:00 Scott Midgley Garrett does a great job of explaining the bubbles arising from WW1 and its aftermath, the credit fueled 20's and the forces behind the Great Depression. The whole thing gets bogged down in mind-numbing detail for about the last 1/4 of the book. My suggestion is to read it until it tickles your boredom bone and then stop. The first 2/3 is very informative. |
