Review # 1 was written on 2010-05-16 00:00:00 Josh Ramey As I read, I couldnt help but think of David's ancestors: Four brothers who joined together. Only one came home to raise a family, two died, one disappeared after he mustered out. Their lives must have been similar to the ones depicted in the book, and the small details of life at camp and on the march, the letters to loved ones at home, and the feelings of hope, desperation, and fear were evident. I highly recommend this one. |
Review # 2 was written on 2014-05-18 00:00:00 Sherry Destefano I love this book. It's especially good for people who adore the unique culture of Louisiana which is a state unlike any other state in the South. This book puts a unique feminine perspective on New Orleans. I will always treasure this book in my collection. |
