Review # 1 was written on 2020-11-22 00:00:00 David Ross Ross Brown's text written in the twenties has a pleasing twenties ring to it, and the book comes close to greatness for its rare illustrations and photographs of late-nineteenth-century NYC. |
Review # 2 was written on 2018-12-28 00:00:00 Franklin Duval This was a very interesting read for me...I think anyone could enjoy it, but I also feel that the only people who can truly appreciate Frazier's NYC experiences are those who are very familiar with the city and probably have lived there...someone without enough knowledge of NYC most likely wouldn't pick up on a lot of the quirks and intricacies that he makes so very colorful. Having said that, if you have any NYC experience or live/have lived there, this is a must read! It's really well written and was definitely hard for me to put down anytime I had to. |
