A lecture given by Priestley in 1956, as it was part of his contract that the lecture be printed as given this is only the first part of the book, in the second part he goes into more detail and in my opinion has more fun with his subjects. Some of this is interesting especially the more personal Priestley gets and some of it is still relevant, but much is not. A book that had a purpose at the time but is now little more than a curiosity, but it does give a look into the mind of of one of this country's greatest playwrights.

It's a great nuts and bolts guide to writing the ten-minute play and explaining how theatricality can (and should!) exist in it. It doesn't have specified lists and other charts so you'll have to just read the information. Still worth the read!
