Review # 1 was written on 2011-01-02 00:00:00 Douglas Ault well researched, somewhat cumbersome to read with all the footnotes. letters reflect attitudes of the civil war era. There are other books in this vein, interesting to read them together.

Review # 2 was written on 2018-07-23 00:00:00 Debra Siegel The good part about this was the nice tie-in with Gordon's 1864 work, which I just read about in his memoirs. The rest of the book was sort of ho hum.
