Review # 2 was written on 2019-07-22 00:00:00 Daniel Vanloozen I enjoyed this history of the King Kong films. The upside to this book was all the details about each of the Kong movies. The downside to this book was all the details about each of the Kong movies. I would have enjoyed this book more if there had been more personal information about the folks involved in making each of the films. What I tired of was the technical information about each and every scene in each and every film. The author complained that all those involved in the early films were now dead, and couldn't be interviewed. While this is true,I recently saw a filmed interview with Fay Ray and a recorded interview with Mr. Cooper (Kong and Son of Kong). There is a lot of good information in this book, and if you're looking for mostly a technical guide, then this is the book for you.If you're looking for personal information that's not been available before, then this book falls short. I'm glad that I read it. The author and I were just looking for different things. Our interests were not the same. |
