Peter writes on the relevance and power of social science and the humanities for relevance for realistic engagement with the world. He cites that social influence and processes are involved in how economies play out and social history is worked out, with a a spattering at the outset on the social underpinnings of scientific endeavours. Terse at times, but lucid if you remain with his prose, it is worth reading. I would recommend this book for social scientists unsure of their footing, natural scientists full of hubris for their subject matter to the chagrin of the colleagues in the humanities, or any willing layperson willing to see the relationship between social science and physical science. Written truly in the spirit of C.P. Snow (Two Cultures).

The theory of inquiry just keeps getting richer - thank you to Dewey for getting the ball rolling!
