Review # 1 was written on 2014-03-12 00:00:00 Austin Creswell I would recommend this book to every seminarian. It is out of print, so you will have to check it out at a library. This short collection of letters contains humble reflections by a priest laicized in the 1970s. His words from 35 years ago are incredibly prophetic. They’ll make you say “This guy gets it.” He presents a logical and historical analysis of the damage done in the Church in the 60s and 70s, but this analysis ultimately springs forth from his bleeding heart. He doesn’t share too much about his own personal situation like I thought he would, but his whole purpose with the letters seems to be to reveal the facets of the “foundation of sand” upon which his vocation had been built.
