Review # 1 was written on 2017-06-30 00:00:00 Tiffany Moore This was without a doubt my favorite book as a child. During the summer while growing up, the local library in Kettering Ohio had a summer reading program for school ageed kids. If you read enough books at the end of the summer you got a certificate for a happy meal. My parents being rather stingy with money (in a good way) this was one of our few opportunities to get to go to McDonalds during the year. My mother would take my 3 sisters, my brother and I to the library each week and we all picked out several books. Never fail I would always force my mom to get this book practically every week. In my head I can still hear my mom's voice repeating (in her best scary voice which wasn't very scary) An' the gobble-uns'at gits you ef you don't watch out!. That simple verse still brings back memories of worry free summer days running free through the neighborhood all day and playing Ghosts in the graveyard until bedtime at night. Life will never be so simple again.

Review # 2 was written on 2019-06-19 00:00:00 Lester Zimmerman, Jr Absolutely worth every penny it took to track down a copy on ebay. I remember this book from when I was a kid. It's a picture book of the James Whitcomb Riley poem "Little Orphant Annie." The illustrations are amazing
