Review # 1 was written on 2021-01-09 00:00:00 Debra Cassistre True story that taught me more about Hansen's disease through the eyes of a patient who was sent to Kalaupapa at the age of 12. Margaret endured MANY hardships and heartaches, but her wonderful spirit shines through and she eventually goes back to Honolulu to live and becomes much loved and admired by many people.

Review # 2 was written on 2015-12-25 00:00:00 Ryan Budde Margaret is marked as a "leper" at age 12 and separated from her family, eventually to live on Moloka'i. She buries many husbands, friends, and relatives but eventually returns to "outside" when her leprosy is arrested.
