Chang A thoroughly researched monograph on one of the most influential British 19th century woman reformer that you have probably never heard of. Not only did the author use numerous resources but was able to find some hereto unmined sources that reveal the extensive journalist endeavors of FPC and the variety of subjects she covered. It always surprises me the amount of causes 19th century women reformers were involved in and how often they would meet over and over again. Even though some of these women do not have their own biographies it is possible to trace their activities through books on these subjects and well-researched biographies (like this one) and if you are lucky get a taste of their personalities as well. |
