There are a variety of researchers, extensive citations, maps, images, charts, clear explanations. I really appreciate that in this book Mesoamerica does not end in 1500 - the second half of the book is about the colonial and modern periods. I think this book does a phenomenal job of presenting the diversity and ongoing influence of Mesoamerican cacao culture. |
