Review # 1 was written on 2009-08-03 00:00:00 Rhonda Pfaff Dana Katz was my professor and thesis advisor in college. I bought this book partially because I had a scholastic relationship with the author; as an amateur art historian, I am also fascinated by the topic. As with most academic publications, it reads a little dry. However, that's pretty much par for the course in academic writing. What I really liked about Dana's book is that it's both easy to read and understand - two characteristics not common in academic writing. It was nice to (finally) read something published by a scholar and actually get through it without falling asleep or wondering what the hell he/she was talking about. |
Review # 2 was written on 2018-01-13 00:00:00 Ryan Simerlink Very dry and very specious (maybe more fallacious). I can't even begin to get into what I thought were the problems with this book but I would not recommend this text to anyone. |
