Review # 1 was written on 2009-05-31 00:00:00 Reginaldo Busa I did not know that butterflies co-existed with dinosaurs. I hadn't really thought about it but I would have guessed before reading this book that butterflies were not around until after the extinction of the dinosaurs. This is a terrific science book for preschoolers and early elementary school students. There are fascinating facts about both butterflies and dinosaurs. I really wanted to like the paper-collage illustrations and I did enjoy the expressions on the dinosaurs' faces. The colors are very bright and I usually enjoy vibrant colors, but these seemed garish to me; I think it was the shades of colors used; they kind of hurt my eyes. I suspect that many young children will enjoy them though; they certainly are eye catching.
