Review # 1 was written on 2020-01-06 00:00:00 Ina Knapper This was fine and I can understand why I was assigned it, but I did find myself becoming bored at times because it seemed that Foner repeated himself a great deal. This was still v informative, I just think there are definitely better resources for someone who wishes to heighten their knowledge of black history and the abolitionist movement. What annoyed me, more than anything, was the fact that I wasn't given an actual book to hold; the entire book was pulled up on a website and I needed to continue clicking through the pages and chapters, instead of just turning pages. That probably did affect my overall attitude toward this book, because I became fed up with the format and anxious to be done after a short time. I'm curious to see if I'd like it better if I had an actual, physical book or even a Kindle edition. |
