Review # 1 was written on 2013-08-04 00:00:00 Rhonda Norbury I was looking for a book on how to care for my husband who had been hit by a car while cycling. Early in the stages of the diagnosis process to find out whether he had fractures on the left side of his body and whether his brain injury could also including a bleed on the brain; I was struggling to be helpful to him. I turned to this book which gave me some much needed perspective on the situation, what he was feeling and to help justify some of the emotions (anger, frustration, desperation, fear) I was feeling. Highly recommend the read for anyone who is either caring for someone who's been injured or diagnosed with a serious illness, but also anyone who is friends with either the ill person or their loved ones. Written with great tenderness, clarity and wonderful guidance. Very easy to read, which is important when you have far more pressing things on your mind. |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-09-06 00:00:00 Nicholas Conway This is solid, if not original, and there is nothing to criticize, except that it is written in the context of a very traditional, 1980s, midwestern ministry. |
