"Keys to Curriculum Mapping" is a great book for those new to the idea of mapping out a curriculum. Those with some experience will find the book very useful, as well. I have mapped out my curriculum in the past and found some of the ideas (using technology rather than writing it out) to be helpful. When our staff was introduced to Curriculum Mapping, writing it out, or word processing it in parts, was encouraged; we had not purchased any software to use at that time. Another tidbit of information was what exactly to write; my partner and I were writing TOO much making the task daunting. Curriculum Mapping is great for districts who don't have a unified curriculum already. Our district has programs in place. We already know where everyone is, because we "check in" and following pacing charts. I don't know if we would need to implement Curriculum Mapping at this time. Regarding the book, however, this is a great resource!

A solid overview of how and why to implement this program of curriculum monitoring. Some charts and sections are applicable I other areas of instructional leadership. It was frustrating that the why was very very involved and then you got a solid overview of what curriculum mapping is.
