Useful as a bibliography. Unfortunately, the book itself is a thicket of academic mumbo-jumbo and never achieves lift-off. The author's point is that there's no one narrative behind the Dakota conflict, and that the white historiography is deeply flawed -- all true -- but this book is fragmented to distraction.

Now I want to hear MPR's Minnesota's Uncivil War. Did anyone catch it back when it was aired?
