Review # 1 was written on 2012-07-24 00:00:00 Andrew Stewart Amid various articles of Stoicism as a 'life-hack', it's easy to forget that Epictetus, knowingly or not, cultivated a coherent philosophy, fit with an ethics and a metaphysics. This book analyses Book 1 of the discourses chapter-by-chapter; highly recommended to anyone looking for a more scholarly approach to Epictetus' thinking.
