Browses over many different therapies - includes examples of treatment and resources. Very brief, but informative for the newbie just getting started. No illustrations - a starter guide to this area best checked out from the library.

Living with chronic pain requires more than pain management. Anyone who suffers knows that being in pain affects every aspect of their life. Often, negative thinking, fear scenarios, and trying to show a brave face drain what little energy there is in reserve. I highly recommend Pain Relief without Drugs. The author of Pain Relief without Drugs realizes that relief needs to look at not only managing pain (with a combination of visualizations, meditation, and healthy pacing of activities) but also address problems such as negative thought patterns, self esteem issues, and dealing with difficult feelings that often accompany and exasperate chronic pain symptoms. Moreover, this book includes a wide range of easy to do exercises and meditations (including an audio CD) so that readers can pick and choose what works for them. In this way, Pain Relief without Drugs provides a good all round resource for chronic pain sufferer
