This absolutely precious picturebook is a great tale of cherishing the adopted and makes the animal (or person) feel loved and accepted. It tells how excited both of the parents were to gain a child and how they were unable to focus on anything else. The illustrations in this book are sketches that have then been penciled in with color. They are very simple and quite "childish" yet fit along nicely with the attended audience. I found this book to be for young kids, but at the same time it was still very precious and adorable. It had a sweet message that is good to introduce to younger kids. I really enjoyed this book!

The story starts with the dreaded assignment of making a family tree for school. This creates an opportunity for Mama Bear to tell Panda about his adoption story including about his birth mother. Panda learns that his adoptive parents love him very much and that adoption is different but it is also special and good. The text is little long and somewhat slow/boring but it is soothing and children who have been adopted should relate well to Panda and the story.
