Did zone out a lot and fall asleep from reading this book... Fav. part: "The communion sacrifice described in Leviticus 7 is an important root of the Christian understanding of the Eucharist as a sacrificial meal. In the thanksgiving offering, both grain and animal offerings are presented to God. Part is burnt on God's altar, part belongs to the priests, and part is given to the worshipers, who eat it on the first and second days of the sacrifice. Then the holy food is destroyed. The ritual surrounding the consumption of the offerings by the worshipers emphasizes the sacred bond of communion with God created by eating the food offered to God."
