All of my relatives near and far love cats but replace the noun with "daughter" and the depth of my feelings is the same as my young friend's. Neither a story nor a picture book, except upon a few precious and adorable pages, this is an easy little companion to brighten a coffee table, armchair, or desk because it is a book of quotes. I certainly felt inspired to react to it, conjuring this wholly positive description: Lovely, soothing, precious, and smiling. It's the sort of light, portable amenity one can refer to over again. Search out favourite parts, lift yourself up, and share quotes with everyone who understands the habits, adventures, boundless love, and treasures of encountering and living among kitties. Jo Kittinger's thoughtful, bright compilation is as light-hearted as it is profound. Private memories rise around us, marvel at a cat's spectacular abilities, and countless familiar antics and scenarios result in laughter all the way through her book. My favourite part of all is Jo's introduction, explaining why she published this powerfully happy book. Just like me, she loves all animals. In her case, she described having many. She admitted other animals came with less-desirable characteristics. It warmed my heart, almost with relief at our uncanny harmony, when she finished to say: "My cats, on the other hand, have brought me nothing but joy. How precious are the memories and photos of my children curled up with our sweet cats". Her perspective is infinitely special.

Review # 2 was written on 2014-10-23 00:00:00 Thomas Gernold My Husband rescued a kitten out of the middle of the road in traffic on Black Friday. Best Black Friday gift I have ever gotten! I have raised kittens before but didn't have a clue about how the kitten had been treated other than the fact that he was used to being handled. This book has been a great help! I am sure I will be returning to its pages again and again as the years go by. Helped with getting him used to his litter box even! I had planned to just read that section but quickly found myself reading the whole book!
