Review # 1 was written on 2009-03-29 00:00:00 Gary Pavlovec It is essentially a series of portraits of important singers. Reading with YouTube to hand to look up their recordings will be quite helpful. While decently written and informative it is a rather one-sided perspective: very little is said about how composer's usage of the tenor voice evolved. Also much of singer's biographical detail did not seem relevant. Overall a worthwhile read for anyone seriously interested in vocal music. |
Review # 2 was written on 2011-09-04 00:00:00 Richard Watson This book was a joy. I thoroughly enjoyed it! (And I learned a lot, too.) |
