Review # 1 was written on 2011-09-04 00:00:00 Addison Golladay Highly recommended! Prof. Dori makes an excellent case for OPM, an alternative to UML in the Systems Design, Analysis and Lifecycle space. An extremely intuitive paradigm that appeals to both our auditory and visual senses by placing real English text alongside clear, unambiguous diagrams. The book is chock-full with examples from Systems Engineering and from life. Very applicable to systems & software professionals. See www.opcat.com for the tool. Full disclosure: I edited this book which was written by my father. My recommendation is obviously biased, but looking back with my experience I can honestly say that the book is a valuable addition to your bookshelf, and the OPM methodology is an extremely valuable addition to your toolkit. |
Review # 2 was written on 2012-04-27 00:00:00 Stefan Ingelsen Was OK. Learned something very interesting: Starting on page 126, "rules" are discussed. That's the kind of info that's missing in classes. A class defines behaviour and state. Its usage etc. ought to be described elsewhere. Hence, rules. Can use some of this in the future. |
