Review # 1 was written on 2014-04-15 00:00:00 Marianne Karsh The book is about Nelson Mandela, the world most famous South African. It covers four parts of his life; early years, a serious student, in prison and Mr. President. Nelson Mandela had a unique life, he went through a transformation that shapes his personality. He was born in 1918 in a time where he was living in a country in which his own people the black Africans were presented over 80% of the population. They had no political voice and Mandela himself never voted in a government election until 1994. He was in prison for 26 years and unfortunately Africans that time still don't have the right to vote. After only 4 years of the moment he was stepped out of the prison he became president of the country. When he was freed, he worked with the South African president to write a new constitution with an opened election for everybody with peace and that was the first open election that happened in South Africa. Mandela was able to change his nation and also was able to be presented as a hero for most people who are suffering during the hard events in life. |
