I haven't provided a rating because this is a difficult work to rate. Kazantzakis is an exceptionally good reader of Nietzsche...for 1909. Nietzsche scholarship before the war (and much of it after the war) is notoriously bad, and Kazantzakis mostly avoids significant errors. But that was 110 years ago, and in the intervening time there has been a lot of good work on Nietzsche. Therefore I can't recommend this if you want to learn about Nietzsche. There remains a second possibility: reading this work because you want to learn about Kazantzakis. The problem with that is that there isn't much Kazantzakis in here. The focus is entirely on a straightforward exegesis of Nietzsche with almost no original elements. So ultimately there's nothing this thesis can provide you today. Also, the introduction and annotations are really weak.

As clear a reconstruction as you're going to get.
