Review # 1 was written on 2017-02-04 00:00:00 Scott Ring I read this for my gender and sexuality class. While I do not agree with everything in the book, I think McMinn has done a wonderful job of addressing many problems and questions within the realm of Christian sexuality. I especially appreciated the chapter (yes, a whole chapter!) on singleness. Christians typically only discuss sexuality within the context of marriage, and they pretty much just tell singles "no." That's not too helpful. McMinn is adamant in enforcing that we are sexual beings in all stages of life. She emphasizes the gifts of singleness and encourages Christians to not see marriage as the end all be all. She exposes myths and lies we believe about sexuality and guides us towards truth. Her picture of sexuality does not shy away from brokenness, but it also offers a redemption. This book would be good for all Christians to read, especially young Christians who are single. I am very glad I read this for class. It has lead to wonderful discussion.

Review # 2 was written on 2016-04-05 00:00:00 Eric Dixon The chapter on singleness revolutionized my understanding on the significant role Christian singles play in the body of Christ. That chapter alone makes this book worth reading. However, the book as a whole seems disjointed. It's mostly McMinn's musings on a few topics related to faith and sexuality, but this book is not exhaustive on the subject by any account. Most chapters exist on their own without any substantial connection with the other chapters or an overarching message.
