A bereft widow, intent on clearing er husband's name visits 221 B Baker Street. This sends Watson and Holmes on a trip across the world where they meed giant rats and "people who were not human." There's a lot of rushing around, but this seems less authentic than most of these continuation books. Some might like it, but I consider it a near miss.

I would like to suggest a few new titles for this book: 1) Sherlock Holmes and the Time Where Holmes and I Acted Like We Were Both 007 But Without All the Things that Made 007 Cool. Seriously, I was promised a case that was too dangerous for the world to know about, yet all that happened was a couple of people who we didn't truly care about died, H&W traveled to China for a long time, and they killed a rat-man hybrid in a page and a half fight scene. Ugh. 2) Sherlock Holmes and That Time Where He Ditched Me In China To Go Solve Another Case Back Home In England One of the reasons why I love Sherlock Holmes so much is because of the almost familial love between Holmes and Watson. And when Holmes left, we were stuck with Watson rambling about the people he met on his trip, especially the women. Oh, the women... Finally, 3) Sherlock Holmes and FOR THE LOVE OF THE MJÖLNIR CONTROL YOUR DANG LIBIDO BOYS (Thankfully, there was nothing graphic in the book or else I would not be held accountable for my actions towards this book.) Three-Continents Watson is really living up to his name, and he doesn't even have game. At all. Holmes also gets a "girlfriend" after acting like Edward Cullen for a month. *Headdesks into eternity* TL;DR version is that this is so OoC. And extremely boring. I never thought I would hate another SH book as much as I do 'Sherlock In Love,' but this one ties with it. (Though with less of the icky factor.)
