Review # 1 was written on 2014-09-10 00:00:00 Bertrand Lemoine Inaccurate. The very first name I looked up was just wrong. So wrong. Ælfgifu (wife of King Eadwig): Wrong date for Eadwig’s death. Says she was “probably in her late thirties or early forties” when she marries King Æthelred the Unready.. who was her late husband’s nephew and about 12 years old. Oh and she was the mother of Edmund Ironside. So wrong. Considering her marriage to Eadwig was annulled based on consanguinity, I highly doubt she would have been allowed to then go and marry her ex-husband’s brother’s son lol. Eadwig’s Ælfgifu also never remarried or had any children. They seem to have combined her and Ælfgifu of York into one superwoman, who must have been an extremely fertile cougar to be able to bear her nephew/new child husband, Æthelred, a son: Edmund Ironside.
