What a strange little volume of OD expertise! It seems to have been constructed curiously on the author's whimsy -- following his gut. There are quite a few gems in there -- such as review of challenges when teaming in consultation, or effects of the physical environment on an intervention -- and themes later expounded on in more detail elsewhere (for example, in Block's Flawless Consulting or Ed Schein's Process Consultation). However, quite a lot of it seemed self-indulgent and haphazardly organized, and the chapter on attire (seriously) was, while somewhat funny, completely unnecessary. It was also written in the language of the time -- often more convoluted than needed. Overall, useful for a skim with a few deeper dives, and I'm sure more groundbreaking in its time.

I read this book as an additional textbook for my MBA module in Organizational Behaviour, and I am very glad that I did. The concepts are extremely well explained and it provoked me to read further into the topic. The book is very well organized and it helped me to get through the course better. I read it alongside Organizational Behavior and they complemented each other very well.
