Review # 1 was written on 2012-06-09 00:00:00 Michael Quinn I first heard of William Badke years ago, when I saw a review of his Christian devotional book The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Meaning of Everything in CCM Magazine, which was of particular interest to me because I had an insatiable appetite for anything related to Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series; still, Saluso's Game is the first of Mr. Badke's works that I've read. What did I think? It was a great action/adventure, suspense/mystery novel with one rather significant flaw: The fact that Ben, who narrates the story, couldn't give out the name of the country or places made things slightly awkward. I couldn't see why Mr. Badke didn't just make up a fictional country, just like Meg Cabot's Genovia in the Princess Diaries series. If you can forgive that flaw, Saluso's Game is worth reading. |
