The most interesting part of this book was the historical aspect and culture of Hawaii. The romance was typical and predictable. This was the 3rd book in the series. They all had pretty much the same story. The first book introduced Johanna then the second was about her daughter, Jobeth, and this last about Jobeth's daughter, Jana. Each book was about the romance of each young woman with a man that was not acceptable to the family, but they overcame the conflicts. I felt the stories needed a little more narration of events in the character's lives. Each book was almost like an outline of a family history with not enough description. Also, I chose the series because of the quilting theme which I felt was not addressed enough. The first book was okay and The second was a good narrative of Civil War history.

A sweet story about young adults from different cultures finding the right path for them.
