Review # 1 was written on 2016-01-19 00:00:00 Jean-paul Hild My two daughters loved this book As do they other Sophie books. They are quick to get through and the fact that they usually contain a multitude of animals is sure to win them over. I read them out loud before bedtime and it is a perfect way to bond. Sophie is a spunky six year old in this story who goes to visit a farm over vacation. There she meets the dreaded Dawn at the beach but their interactions are brief. She spends most of her time there learning how to ride a horse. There are only a few things about the books I don't care for. For one, Sophie always seems to get what she wants, but admittedly, many times she has to work for it. Also, in this story, she receives money for what Dawn's parents mistakenly think was saving Dawn's life. The parents all laugh about it when she explains that she tried to tell the father but he wouldn't listen. I felt it was a missed opportunity for a lesson in honesty and integrity. |
