Review # 1 was written on 2014-09-11 00:00:00 Tatsuya Hiratsuka Mary Ellen isn't superstitious. But when she gets a fortune cookie warning her to "Reflect carefully today, lest your deeds bring bad luck your way" and then breaks a mirror, bad things start happening. Her best friend, Justine, is moving to Paris for a year and then she becomes popular with the "in crowd", Amy and Debra and turns away from Mary Ellen. Nick, Mary Ellen's little brother, kills her fish. She trips in class (in front of Ben - yikes!) and breaks the jar with her fruit flies in it. Is it really bad luck? Will Mary Ellen ever be happy again? |
Review # 2 was written on 2012-05-04 00:00:00 Ira Belfer This book was in between "OK" and "Liked It." The story wasn't very exciting, it mainly just told about a girl whose life changed the opposite direction. The two girls in the story are young and still do "less mature" things than they would probably do when they are older. (Such as putting just used - and eaten - chopsticks in your hair) It had some short funny parts, but overall, ... I can't explain.... I think you get the picture. |
