In trying to include the religious and non-religious as his audience, Murchinson seems to limit how intricately he chooses to speak about God as the author of morality. He argues much that the 60's and beyond tore down many good social norms. The outcome has shown these libertarian views to be wrong, but his arguments on how we can create a culture of morality today (he wrote in 1994) is very weak. He seems to rely upon the wisdom and good nature of mankind to figure out that libertarian thinking is not all it is thought to be, rather than crying out to God to bring revival through rightly fearing the power, judgment and accountability of God and trusting in Christ as Savior and Lord which brings about the change of heart that is needed in lives today. It would also have been helpful to have more documentation and less rhetoric in stating how libertarian views have been found wanting (though I agree with his assessment and he had some).

Felt that this book made some very interesting arguments in opposition to pre-tribulation rapture. However, I didn't find his approach as a totally sufficient answer. According to his pre-wrath rapture timing there would still have to be a third secret coming of Christ. If Jesus return at the sixth seal to rapture the Saints and then we are caught up somewhere into the waiting place in heaven he still has to come back down to earth the third time to establish his throne in Jerusalem and execute his judgments on the nations of the earth In his millennial reign. I also felt that it did not sufficiently answer the greater theme of God's end time plan for the church.
