Once I got used to the author's generous use of exclamation marks, side comments, and smiley faces, I really enjoyed this book and found it uplifting.

Living as a Godly woman in the 21st century is not always easy. We hear lots of cultural ideas of how we should act and behave, but what exactly IS a Godly woman? What are the core characteristics that set her apart? In "God Chicks" author Holly Wagner shares both personal and missionary stories as she explains who a God Chick is in essence. Wagner states that God Chicks are able to be themselves (they take pride in who God created them to be, not trying to be someone else or looking to the world for affirmation), they see their worth in Christ, they stand up for what's right and fight for justice, they create and maintain Godly friendships without feeling envy or bitterness for a friend's success, they enjoy their lives and take time to smile and be happy, they are faithful and love their spouse and friends, and they do whatever they need to do in order to share the Good News with others. Although Holly writes from a married perspective, the feel of her book is actually quite pre-teen to me. She has lots of good things to say to women of any generation, but I found her writing almost talks down to an older reader. Still worth a read, though if you're looking for a fun, fast-paced, easy-to-read type of book.
