Missler is consistently mind-blowing. I listen to him on the radio whenever possible, and have heard him speak a couple of times. My husband considers him a bit of a whacko. I think Dr. Missler would take that as a compliment. I love his passion, but mostly his amazing mind. He could recite the Bible backwards, he knows it so well. (I challenge anyone who wants to criticize him to learn the Bible that well first!) Dr. Missler is always brave and integritous enough to be willing to discuss ideas which he sees adequate evidence for, despite popular opinion's whining that such things are too bazaar for "enlightened" post-modern conversation. Because of this courage and his years of dedication to in-depth study and research, his down-to-earth humility and transparency, the excellence of his teaching, and his all-out brilliance, he is one of my favorite teacher / authors. I will have to read this book again to really be able to comment specifically on it - I am writing this review a few years after reading it - but it definitely improved my antennae for events we are seeing in the daily news that are "Biblical" in the prophetic sense, as well as my confidence that a "basic" Christian such as myself can learn and discern in this area. This is very faith-building. As an aside, one of the things I enjoy the most about Dr. Missler is that he is willing to sometimes depart from his research-based academic presentation to tell us things he suspects to be true, but can't prove, always carefully disclaiming himself - I have never seen any other expository author be that transparent and willing to risk. It is pretty cool to be allowed to see these occasional glimpses into how his mind works and where his thoughts lead. As a person who trusts intuition as a valid way of knowing, I find this to be uniquely excellent reading. Thank you, Dr. Missler, for everything you contribute for thinking Christians!

Dated but still relevant Brief essays on a variety of related topics. Scholarly and yet easy to read. All of the scenarios are plausible in the near future.
