Review # 1 was written on 2019-07-07 00:00:00 Stanley Pidima Fascinating, frustrating, charming, inspiring. I read an excerpt from this about a hundred years ago and it's stuck in my mind ever since. Can't believe it's taken me this long to track it down and actually read the whole thing, but I'm glad I did. |
Review # 2 was written on 2017-07-17 00:00:00 James Alexandre WOW!!!!!! I took my kiddos to their weekly library visit and thought I would just browse the biography section. Although I had already started a book for the week for some reason I thought to just look around. Little did I know how many biography's are out there. This book popped out to me and I'm glad it did. Yep, I do believe in kharma and destiny. I cried and laugh through the whole book. There are sooo many quotable statements and ideas on every single page. Those in the deaf community all know that they are bright and beautiful, but the worldy struggle is enormous. Thank you Kathy Buckley for all the reminders that my deaf kiddo is going to be a beautiful, witty, smart and successful adult. I will try my best to understand through the stories the struggles that "we" will be working through hand in hand. A must read for special ed. teachers :) deaf older teens, parents and loved ones of anyone in the deaf and hard of hearing community. |
