Review # 1 was written on 2014-12-23 00:00:00 Austin Choy To be sure, I am a goy and the book is not intended for me. However, I think any Jew alive today under the age of 50 would find this a dated read. I enjoyed the Jewish style -- returning again and agin to repeated themes in new contexts -- but other aspects do not stand the test of time well. Still, the terms are all well-defined, there is no Hebrew script, and popular culture is assumed. As a Conservative Rabbi, Gross is a generation behind the times, and the book is 15 years old. If you are looking for unattributed quotes and anecdotes, this is the book for you!
