I have two versions of this book - the listed paperback AND a hardback Cookery Book Club edition from 1967 (found in a used book store) to replace an earlier edition paperback my father had bought and used until the cover had fallen off.

My copy was copyright 1952 by Henry Schuman, Inc., manufactured in the US by H Wolff, New York. Frog as the initial god of the peasant? How about that! The stories are carefully passed on with the author's analysis of the times in which they were 1st created. Marvelous study and incite discovered so far!
