Good use of rhyme, repetition, off- & near- rhyming and timing. Not to be confused with this guy or that puddy tat . . . Extra stars for: dual usage of the word struck, the sub-sub-textualized innuendo & the use of original/repackaged narrative to exhibit tolerance/acceptance within the rubric of Christianity—for this series, the Christian moral is saved for the final postscript, which in this case, is a quote from Paul's letter to the Romans. Unfortunately I did not take note of which bit exactly was quoted, but I remember it ringing true. This book, from the series Building Christian Character, is published by the Evangelical monolith that is David C. Cook—an organization that "equips local churches to operate on a global scale". I used it as a text for an ESL lesson for a teenager who is being mainstreamed into American society via the public school system. While not the ideal text, it served its purpose well insofar as teaching general reading comprehension goes. And rhyme it does.
