Review # 1 was written on 2009-09-27 00:00:00 Dexter Ingram Interesting, crunchy child-rearing book. The chapters on pregnancy, nutrition, etc. weren't much different than anything you'd find in a book written by the Sears family. But I found the chapters on the arts, sports, and learning in general to have a lot of interesting ideas which I haven't seen in other books. If you don't consider yourself a hippie on some level, I probably wouldn't choose this one. |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-03-23 00:00:00 Gary Abrahams This was a short book, thankfully. Although there was some good information, it was written to encompass a rather old-fashioned situation. It wasn't so much about being a step-parent as it was about blending two complete families. I wanted something more that was how to relate to a step-child, how to step-parent. Also, it shouldn't be about the man being the bread-winner and the woman being the housewife. That doesn't necessarily have anything to do with parenting, about him making money and her just being with all the kids. |
