Review # 1 was written on 2007-12-28 00:00:00 Arthur Snow This book is sex-positive and engaging. It includes things I wouldn't expect to find in a textbook, such as information about diva cups, and advice on using orgasms and cats* to relieve menstrual cramps. Unfortunately, the index contains many incorrect page numbers, and the illustration of homologous organs on page 119 boasts 4 significant errors. The anatomy and physiology sections seem to be this book's most significant weakness: throughout, this information is not as logically and completely presented as it should be. __ * "A heating pad or a hot water bottle (or, in a pinch, a cat) applied to the abdominal area may help relieve cramps; a warm bath may also help." Review # 2 was written on 2013-01-20 00:00:00 Sam Muzny The textbook is one of the few I have read that did not try to explain away sexual variation. It also allowed for greater conversations on topics I did not expect to be able to discuss in a class. Overall the book was interesting, but it was not a perfect book. It is one of the better textbooks out there on the subject of human sexuality, but it is not one that can be read for fun easily. |
